DIY: phone tripod mount

Whilst waiting on the repair guy to come and fix the leaking in the upstairs bathroom on Wednesday I thought I would use the time to attempt another DIY project, a phone mount to go on my current tripod so that I could do video tutorials but only using items found in my house.
Looking around the house, rummaging through drawers and cupboards to find something useful and effective. I found a few things: A piece of cardboard from the laminator box, a photo frame hook, a corner bracket and my flash stand that never gets used.
Heres the 3 prototypes:
(1) The cardboard
made slits on both sides for the phone to slide into and a hole at the bottom to add some kind of security and keep it in place.
(2) The photo frame hook – Remember I had to work with what I found in the house so cellotape was as strong as it was going to get to hold this together. It did hold the weight on my phone pretty well.
(3) Flash stand – No superglue (probably would have worked better) but I did use bathroom sealant to hold an old phone case to the stand. Didn’t wait for it to dry completely ( I got curious after an hour) though I doubt that would have made a difference.
Held the phone ok if kept level, of course the moment I moved it to face down the phone hit the floor. Luckily no damaged caused and the sealant peeled right off the stand.
Verdict: I tried and tested them all and found that out of all 3 attempts if I really had to choose it would be the cardboard as it was a little bit more stable.
